SejunDrop schafft es wirklich wie selten ein indie Game eine unfassbar unangenehme Atmosphäre zu erzeugen. Nicht nur ist der vibe der frühen 2000er extrem gut eingefangen, auch die Mechanik hat es sehr spannend gemacht, auch wenn es wirklich aufs wesentlichste reduziert war. Es gibt ein Monster, es Patroulliert die Gänge und man muss lauschen, sich verstecken oder versuchen zu entkommen. Dabei ist das Leveldesign maßgeblich für das Gameplay, auch wenn es sich an den gängigen Klischees bedient, sprich: Finde einen einen Schlüssel, gelange zu einem neuem Raum, bekomme Item XY und schalte neue Abschnitte frei. Es ist einfach die ganze Zeit ein Fokus auf die Geräuschkulisse notwendig, Orientierungsvermögen und vor allem Geduld. Ich habe mir seit langem mal wieder so ein Spiel gewünscht und das Design des Monstern war für mich wirklich einfach nur schaurig unangenehm.
Absolute Empfehlung!
Natürlich hätten "interessantere" Rätsel und Hindernisse noch die Kirsche oben drauf gelegt, am besten noch mit Bezug zur japanischen Kultur, aber gerade den sehr smarten Umgang mit dem Leveldesign möchte ich hervorheben. Dieses war nämlich schwer genug zu bewältigen.
probably one of my favorite Itch horror games, the atmosphere and setting are great. The monster design is scary and the AI is pretty decent. Gonna be real though the part where you grab the ladder to escape was probably the most infuriating thing ever. The AI was camping the balcony the whole time and I just happened to slip by due to sheer luck. The AI is the only issue I had, other than that it was really really good 🙏
Well, it was good, until it wasn't. The story is pretty shallow, the sole reason the whole game is scary is because the monster is chasing you 24/7 (cheap and bland game mechanic). Oh and the graphics are trashy as well.

I really loved the silent hill styled movement in the beginning in front of the outside of the apartment complex. Sad there wasn't any other like it. The scenery is cool and the monster is pretty creepy, but other than that this game isn't good. Everything but the gameplay is good. The gameplay is just going from point A to point B to get keys and then get more keys... and then more keys. It doesn't feel rewarding. The game also isn't that scary considering the monster only has like two mechanics. Please for the love of God add more animation/camera/ silent hill styled gameplay like how it was in the front of the apartment complex. And PLEASE make the "puzzles" if you even wanna call them puzzles more changling but actually meaningful. Having to annoyingly go up and down a building to get keys back and forth is boring and pointless. I also understand this game was free which I am grateful for, but this is just some constructive criticism. Thanks.
This was the best japanese horror game, that I have played so far! The monster was well done and besides being hidious, it's smart? AI is very good and the atmosphere you created is phenomenal, well done!
